AEOBRO

AEOBRO FAQ

What is AEOBRO?

AEOBRO is the creator of the AI Identity Layer™—a machine-readable, public, verified identity registry that helps AI systems find verified facts about your brand, business, or creator identity.

AEOBRO provides:

  • A canonical public record
    One stable published URL that represents the authoritative version of your organization.
  • Verification-gated claims
    Facts are published only when ownership or authority can be proven.
  • Machine-readable structure
    Your identity, services, and FAQs are published in formats AI systems can interpret and cite.

In review, a reference-grade truth source using a structured record (including JSON-LD) so AI systems can represent you accurately instead of guessing.

AEOBRO is not an AI assistant.

It does not:

  • answer questions
  • chat with users
  • generate AI responses
  • promise rankings, traffic, or visibility boosts

AI assistants interpret information. AEOBRO publishes the official version of that information.

Why did we create AEOBRO?

The problem is that AI systems already answer questions about your organization.

They pull from:

  • outdated websites
  • scraped directories
  • inconsistent bios
  • unverified third-party claims

When facts conflict, AI systems infer.

Inference is not authority.
AEOBRO was created to ease the costly pain point of inference, with a clear public record.

How is AEOBRO different from an AI assistant?

AI assistants vs AEOBRO

AI assistants

  • Generate answers
  • Interpret sources
  • Change behavior as models update
  • Do not maintain official records

AEOBRO

  • Publishes official records
  • Verifies authority
  • Exists independently of model updates
  • Can be cited as a source

AEOBRO does not compete with AI assistants.
It gives them something defensible to reference.

Who is AEOBRO for?

AEOBRO is for organizations where accuracy matters:

  • professional services
  • regulated industries
  • reputation-sensitive businesses
  • entities frequently misrepresented online

What is JSON-LD?

JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) is a structured data format that labels your information so AI systems and search engines can understand it—not just see it.

It’s a digital language that connects your brand to the web of knowledge machines use—making your facts discoverable and trustworthy for AI and search technologies.

Think of it as a business card for machines: humans read your site, but AI needs clean, structured fields (name, links, category, address) to know who you are.

Why it matters: Structured, verified JSON-LD helps AI pull the right details about your brand—consistently and with higher trust.

{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "CafeOrCoffeeShop",
  "name": "Joe's Coffee Shop",
  "address": {
    "streetAddress": "123 Main Street",
    "addressLocality": "Springfield",
    "addressRegion": "NJ"
  }
}

How do I create a profile on AEOBRO?

Click the “Create Your AI Identity Profile” button on aeobro.com.

What is an AI-Identity Profile?

Your information, organized as a public page plus structured data (JSON-LD) that helps search engines and AI assistants understand your information. It isn’t a chatbot and doesn’t act on your behalf.

What is a GEID?

A GEID (Global Entity Identifier) is a permanent, unique identifier assigned to every AEOBRO profile at the moment it is created. It looks like this: geid_3FA8C1D209B47E56 — the prefix geid_ followed by 16 uppercase hexadecimal characters.

The GEID never changes. If your business changes its name, domain, or any other attribute, the GEID remains the same. This makes it a stable handle that AI systems and developers can use to look up your verified identity at any future point without re-disambiguation.

GEIDs are public. Anyone can use a GEID to retrieve your verified profile through the AEOBRO resolver at https://api.aeobro.com/v1/resolve/{geid}. This is intentional — the GEID is infrastructure, not a secret. Its value comes from being a permanent, publicly resolvable pointer to verified identity data.

Without a GEID, an AI system trying to understand who your business is must infer from scraped web content — which is inconsistent, outdated, and prone to error. With a GEID, any AI system can resolve your verified identity in a single deterministic lookup. No inference. No guessing. Ground truth.

What is the entity lookup API?

The AEOBRO entity lookup API allows AI systems and developers to find a verified AEOBRO entity by domain, handle, or slug without needing to know the GEID in advance. This endpoint is public and does not require an API key. It is designed for AI crawlers and agents that need to resolve business identity from a known domain or name, returning the GEID and resolver URL for further lookup. Rate limited at 30 requests per minute per IP address.

What do I need to create an AEOBRO profile? (Short answer)

Verification.

  • Creators (Lite): A web domain, or a social media account you control for verification.
  • Businesses (Plus and Pro-coming soon): A web business domain, or a social media account you control for verification. Business domains are preferred.

Profiles without verification cannot publish to the AI ecosystem. Without verification, your profile can exist as a draft, but it won’t publish to AI engines.

What do I need to create an AEOBRO profile? (Long answer)

Every AEOBRO profile must connect to something you truly control— typically a domain or a platform account. This prevents impersonation and increases trust for machine-readers.

Creators can verify via supported platforms (OAuth or code-in-bio). Businesses can verify via DNS TXT record or domain email. Verified creators publish Person/Creator schema; verified businesses publish Organization/LocalBusiness schema including FAQs, services, and locations (where applicable).

Why does AEOBRO require verification?

To prevent impersonation, ensure AI engines see data from controlled sources, and increase trust weight for your structured identity record.

I’m a small business with no website and only a non-business email. Can I still sign up?

Yes. You can start with platform verification (Lite) using a social account you control (OAuth or code-in-bio). You can later add a domain and upgrade to publish Organization/LocalBusiness schema once you have a business domain.

Why should I use AEOBRO instead of just publishing the same information on my own website?

Publishing accurate facts on a website is valuable for humans—but AI systems and search engines perform best with structured, verified JSON-LD.

  • Your facts are formatted in machine-readable JSON-LD.
  • Verification increases trust signals for AI systems.
  • Reduces impersonation risk by tying profiles to identities people actually control.
  • Helps AI systems pull the right information instead of guessing from inconsistent sources.

Note: AEOBRO improves accuracy and consistency for machines, but does not guarantee placement, ranking, traffic, or revenue.

Why can’t I just add JSON-LD to my current website, and skip AEOBRO?

You can—and we encourage it.

AEOBRO generates clean, standards-based JSON-LD you can paste into your website. We recommend updating your website’s JSON-LD whenever you update your AEOBRO profile.

However, publishing JSON-LD only on your website means your identity exists in a single, self-asserted location. By also publishing on AEOBRO, your brand maintains a verifiable, trusted, and citable third-party identity layer that AI systems can reference independently of your website.

AEOBRO does not guarantee rankings or placement; it improves accuracy, consistency, and trust signals for machine interpretation.

Why don’t I see results immediately?

Because AI systems update on their own schedules. AEOBRO defines the record they reference, but it doesn’t control when third-party systems refresh or display it.

Does AEOBRO integrate directly with ChatGPT or other AI systems?

No. AEOBRO is a public data layer, not a direct integration. AI systems may discover and use this data through standard retrieval processes — web crawling and structured data parsing. AEOBRO has no affiliation with OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or Perplexity.

Will AEOBRO guarantee rankings, traffic, or visibility?

No. AEOBRO does not promise rankings, traffic, placement, or revenue.

No rankings promised. No traffic guarantees. Just accurate representation. AI systems and search engines decide what to surface and when.

How do upgrades and downgrades work with billing?

Upgrades (Lite → Plus) take effect immediately. Stripe prorates the difference and charges only what’s owed for the remaining time in your billing period. If the payment fails, Plus access is not granted.

Downgrades (Plus → Lite) take effect at the end of your current billing period. There are no refunds, and you keep Plus access until the period ends.

How do I cancel?

Use the Manage subscription link in the site footer to open the secure Stripe Billing Portal. From there you can change plans (upgrade or downgrade), update your payment method, or cancel your subscription. Your service continues until the end of your current billing period; renewals stop.

How does AEOBRO handle refunds?

There are no refunds. If your profile is taken down or frozen during an investigation, refunds will not be issued. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops renewals, and your service continues until the end of the current billing period.

What happens to my profile if I cancel my subscription?

After your subscription lapses, premium features and editing are disabled and your public profile is unpublished (no longer crawlable). We retain your profile data for 30 days so you can reactivate. After 30 days with noreactivation, the profile may be permanently deleted per our retention policy.

What do the pricing features mean?

What is the AI discovery layer?

Every verified AEOBRO profile is automatically included in the AI discovery layer. This means your profile is publicly readable by AI crawlers, agents, and systems that query AEOBRO — without any additional action on your part. You do not need API access for this. Publishing a verified profile is sufficient. The AI discovery layer is available on every plan including Lite.

What does “basic visibility” mean?

Basic visibility means your profile is indexed by AEOBRO and publicly resolvable by your GEID and slug. AI systems that query the AEOBRO resolver can find your profile and retrieve your verified identity data. It does not mean guaranteed placement in any specific AI system's output — AI systems decide what to surface and when.

What is an enhanced profile?

An enhanced profile (Plus and above) includes structured data beyond the core identity fields. This includes FAQ markup, service markup, products and catalog listings, and updates. Each of these gives AI systems richer, more structured information about what your business does, what it offers, and what has changed recently. Enhanced profiles give AI systems more to work with, which reduces the likelihood of inference errors.

What is API access?

API access (Pro and HQ) allows you to programmatically retrieve AEOBRO identity data and interact with the AEOBRO identity layer from your own tools, systems, and integrations. Rather than viewing your profile through the AEOBRO dashboard, API access lets your applications query AEOBRO directly using an API key and receive structured JSON responses.

  • Pro — 50,000 API calls per month with read access to your own data.
  • HQ — 200,000 API calls per month with the ability to look up any verified entity in the AEOBRO registry.

API access is separate from AI discovery. Every verified profile is automatically readable by AI systems regardless of plan. API access is for when you want to pull AEOBRO data into your own tools and systems.

What are overage charges?

If your monthly API call usage exceeds your plan's included limit, overage charges apply for each additional call.

  • Pro — $0.002 per additional call beyond 50,000.
  • HQ — $0.001 per additional call beyond 200,000.

A default monthly cap protects you from unexpected charges — $50 for Pro and $100 for HQ. You can raise or disable this cap in your API settings. The cap resets automatically at the start of each billing cycle.

What are franchise relationship requests?

Franchise relationship requests (Pro) allow a franchisee to formally link their AEOBRO profile to their franchisor's verified HQ profile. The franchisee submits a request using the franchisor's GEID. The franchisor reviews and approves the request from their HQ dashboard. Once approved, the franchise relationship is verified and publicly reflected in both profiles — AI systems reading either profile understand the verified relationship between them.

What is the franchise approval dashboard?

The franchise approval dashboard (HQ) is a management interface for franchise corporate offices. It shows all franchise locations linked to the HQ profile, pending relationship requests from franchisees, and the verification status of each location. HQ accounts can approve or reject franchise relationship requests, and can revoke relationships if a franchise location changes ownership or leaves the network.

What does “up to 10 profiles” mean on the Pro plan?

Pro accounts can manage up to 10 separate AEOBRO profiles under a single login. This is designed for multi-location operators, franchise operators managing multiple territories, or agencies managing profiles on behalf of clients. Each profile has its own GEID, its own verified identity, and its own public page.

What is brand verification authority?

Brand verification authority (HQ) means that a franchisor's verified HQ account can formally vouch for franchise locations within their network. When a franchisor approves a franchise relationship request, that approval counts as a trust signal for the franchisee's profile — indicating to AI systems that this location is an officially authorized representative of the parent brand. This helps AI systems distinguish legitimate franchise locations from unofficial or impersonating pages.

What does “look up any verified entity via API” mean?

HQ accounts with API access can query the AEOBRO registry to retrieve verified identity data for any published, verified entity — not just their own profiles. This is useful for franchise corporate offices building internal tools that need to verify the identity of specific locations, vendors, or partners. Pro accounts can only retrieve their own profile data via API.

What is the difference between being signed in and being verified?

Signed in refers to user account authentication. It means you have logged into AEOBRO and can access and edit your profile.

Verified on AEOBRO means ownership has been confirmed — not that all claims are independently audited.

  • Domain Ownership Verified — you proved control of your website domain via DNS TXT record or domain email.
  • Platform Ownership Verified — you proved control of a linked platform account via OAuth or code-in-bio.

Verification establishes ownership. The content of your record remains your responsibility.
